Growing up with Pooh.

Sara is growing up. Fast. The realization suddenly dawns when she speaks sentences you never thought she could -like 'mala nahi mahiti, me fighting kaka baghtey', .She now runs to untie and remove my shoes when I reach home, brings me imaginery tea, she bores neighbours (German!!) to death with stories of hanuman and 'bal-jagesh'(who BTW have a 24x7 presence on our TV and inspire Sara to jump around the house only in her 'dhotar')!. She scolds her German friend "Lars, asa karu nakoss, tu good girl ahes na?", the stroller is completely out of favour and is a hindrance in watching the 'goggle vala keeda'on the footpath, the new laptop belongs to her and is meant to be used only for typing ABCD and watching YouTube videos she likes!! man!! I thought only one lady dominated my life :-). But,I know as time flies - quick as it does, I will long for this dominance; so enjoying every bit of it now!

Out of sheer wonder, I tried to google 'do kids never feel cold?'. Did not find much, but it does boggle my mind! Our trip to Italy in Feb'09 confirmed to me that Sara for one is the most cold-tolerant amongst us. While everyone on the street wore jackets, scarves and gloves - for Sara all that was kid-stuff meant for the fussy adults - not for her! This picture in Venice says it all about 'Cool Sara'.

The 'du-du' conspiracy!

She knows exactly how to get the lights back on. The overflowing enthusiasm just won't let Sara go to bed. 11.00 pm? No worries - it's still playtime! Try switching the lights off and off she goes 'mama du-du, mama, mama du-du!!' how could you say no? So, we take turns everyday going thru the ritual - getting the milk out, heated and ready - only to find Sara burping , and laughing with a 'oko' ('Nako')!! Switch off the lights and guess what you hear ,again - 'Mama...du-du' :-)!!!

Good Cop, Bad Cop?

I just can't bring myself to scolding Sara. I know that me being the good cop and Shaifali the bad one, is not the right thing to do. I completely understand that there are times when you need to be strict and some harsh treatment is required - but for now Shaifali does it :-). I will get there eventually - I promise!! Till then, I remain the good cop :-).

The Cap.

Having Sara wear a cap was some task for us. We just came in from 35 deg in Pune to 10 deg in Mainz, Germany. The wind made it colder. So, while we loved to take a walk exploring the new neighborhood, keeping the young's lady's winter cap in place was a mammoth and ongoing effort. In one quick move, she would just pull it off - it was an unnecessary obstruction to the splendid sights she was enjoying -Until THE CAP arrived.
I reluctantly agreed to buying this - it has those 2 ponies - i just thought it was too old-fashioned for the stylish young lady. But, we bought it anyway - and how things changed! There she was asking to wear the cap - outdoors and indoors - all the time! She would play with the ponies and throw them over her back. man! Sara's got style! I have begun to like it now too- don't think its old-fashioned anymore - its in Vogue! Thanks to Sara :-).

Sara

The look in her eyes says it all! Raw energy to go enjoy every moment. Never a dull moment, not for her, not for you. That's Sara!
